A Tribute to Aunty Elizabeth Olivia Lipdo.

Writing this tribute is good for myself and everyone who reads it and knew Aunty Eli. 1st September 2019 was a very shocking day — one of those days I felt the world literally collapse and try to reshape because we lost a star that day. I nearly declared September doomed and lost most of my birthday vibe but I have learnt and be reminded of very significant things in this period.

The grand lesson I learnt from Aunty Elis life and the discussions about her life is she understood the principles of diligence and hard work. Martin Luther King Jr. once said and I quote, “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well”. Few people get to understand this — Aunty Eli was one of them. She worked hard at all she did and did it with her strength from teaching at Hillcrest to grooming children and everything else. Last week I made a post about letting your light shine. Your light shining doesn’t mean you must stand on the mount and teach a two chapter’s long sermon — it’s being faithful in all you do.

What light do you have? What gifts did God give you? What have you done with them? How much longer do you have to live — I know you don’t know. Live intentionally. You were created to bring God glory. Carry your light and run with it.

One of the true tests of the quality of our lives is what we will be remembered for when we’re gone.

Aunty Eli Lipdo I’ll miss you greatly. There’s a lot of projects I planned to bring before you for help but time hasn’t allowed but every memory will be cherished. Rest on while we work.
